Singing bowls were traditionally used throughout Asia for spiritual purposes such as relaxation, meditation, personal well-being, trance-induction, healthcare and also for other religious practices. It is widely used through out the world these days for the same purpose. Singing bowls are unique because there are multi phonic instruments producing multiple harmonic over tones. It is the results of alloys consisting of multiple metals each producing it’s over tone. The singing bowls we sell are made in Nepal and India. Each and every bowl is hand picked for the best sound. With this purchase you get a free mallet with bear wood on one side, and a leather wrap on other side.

How to play

1. Place the bowl on your palm without touching the bowl with your fingers for the best sound.

2. Hold the mallet about mid-length, just like the way you hold a pen.

3. First strike the rim gently and keep rubbing on the rim with a reasonable pressure while positioning the mallet to about an 70 to 80 degree angle.

4. It is much easier to get the sound with the bear wood, however it tends to make the tone higher, whereas the side with the leather wrap can be used simply by tapping on it while holding the bowl on your palm (again without your fingers touching). It will make a great low tone with much less effort.
